Open Call for Pitches:
Ride Texas, a quarterly print and digital motorcycle magazine, is accepting pitches on an ongoing basis. Our readers and writers ride motorcycles in Texas and surrounding states.
At this time, we’re looking especially for unbiased gear reviews, restaurant reviews, and motorcycle industry trends. The Spring 2024 issue will feature the total solar eclipse, related events, and Texas Hill Country lodging.
The pitch deadline for our Spring issue is January 15, 2024 (for publication mid-February). Writers may request a sample digital magazine from squirrel@ ridetexas.com.
Ride Texas pays $125 to $400 per print article, depending on length and depth of research. Blog posts pay $75 for an estimated 500- to 700-word post. Please note that no articles will be accepted without photographs. (Quality smart phone photographs will be considered.)

We are seeking writers to contribute reviews of restaurants with destination/ride appeal. For this feature, we’re thinking of sit-down restaurants (not to include BBQ, bars, or burger barns). Reviews are approximately 750 to 1,000 words in length, accompanied by at least three photos. Pay per review in our print magazine is $125.
We are also looking for a Gear Guru(s) to write unbiased 750- to 1,000-word reviews on motorcycle riding gear, useful electronics/gadgets, and after-market accessories. We do not do bike reviews.
In general, motorcycle-related and Texas-centric topics may include: ride reports, profiles, routes, destinations, event previews (not post-event summaries), industry trends, racing, custom builds, vintage motorcycles, and/or book reviews. Please note articles will not be accepted without original or free-license photographs. (Quality smart phone photographs will be considered.)
For Summer 2024, we’ll focus on ways to beat the heat and highlight Texas swimming holes. We’ll visit destinations in surrounding states, including Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico, in the Fall. Ride Texas is inclusive of all motorcycle makes, models, and riding styles.
We will continue to accept pitches throughout the year on a rolling basis.
Blog for us!
Pitch us with “newsy” items and restaurant reviews for blog posts on ridetexas.com. Blog articles are published to the home page of our website, ridetexas.com. Blog posts are approximately 500 words in length and must include at least one original photograph. Texas- and motorcycle-centric topics are strongly preferred. The blog is our opportunity to share items that are more time-dependent or “trending.” Pay is $75 per blog.
