ABOUTI wonder what's down that road?

RIDE TEXAS® is an award-winning motorcycle travel publication that's been covering the back roads, byways and small towns of Texas and the neighboring states since 1998. It's the number one motorcycle publication in Texas, bar-none. But we purposely don't call it a motorcycle magazine because it's not like any motorcycle magazine out there. It isn't a product guide, it's a ride guide. It's a quarterly travel journal for the type of travel you love, exploring on two wheels.

Mission

RT's mission is to help you maximize the pleasure of every mile you spend on your bike. Your free time is precious. We take the wrong turns, ride down the dead end roads, get lost and do the leg work to return with trips that are laser focused to make sure when you head out with your loved one, friends, or all by yourself, that you'll find the best of back roads riding every time. We cover the entire state of Texas and other states you can reach within a day's ride. Our goal is to produce the finest, book-quality quarterly ride guide that not only shows you how to get there, but why you should go.

What's inside?

Each bookazine volume has good reads, excellent photography, multiple maps, and detailed trip planning resources. These resources include: food, lodging, and things to do if you choose to get off your motorcycle. What isn't in it is product or bike reviews. Much of that product review type of coverage is now available online for free. We consider each page valuable real estate, and we don't want to waste your time.

What the heck is a “bookazine?”

We didn't make the word up, we swear; it's a real word. A bookazine is a periodical book or journal. The name “magazine” just doesn't fit what RT does. It's not time-sensitive material. An edition you get today is as good 5 years from now as it was the day you first opened the front cover. That doesn't sound like a magazine. We invest book-like resources into each volume; we take it very seriously. It's not throw-away material. It's a book, that happens to be periodical.

Awards

With a team of talented writers and photographers who are experts in Texas, motorcycles and travel, RT has been selected for 7 journalism awards from the Dallas and Houston Press Clubs, including awards for writing, photography and graphic design. Although it's the readers' appraisal of RT that matters most, professional recognition is an affirmation of our high standards and lets you know we're serious about quality.

Where we've been

We've cataloged past editions through 2002 in our bibliography of editions. Where are we going next? Wherever the road leads…

Prime directive

Our prime directive is to take no sides in the "my bike is better than your bike" wars that often divide the motorcycle community. Ride and let ride. RT's writers ride a diversity of types of bikes. Just picture your bike and you in the articles, and you're there.

Availability

RIDE TEXAS® is available by subscription, both digital and print, on newsstands, and at select dealerships.

If you often wonder, "What's down that road, and over the next rise, and beyond the horizon?" and you're ready to find out, RT is for you.
